In September, 2009 the Swedish Road Authority decided to give a go-ahead for the Förbifart Stockholm, or Stockholm Bypass. The new 21 km-long motorway between Kungens kurva (E 4/E 20) in southern Stockholm and Häggvik (E 4) in northern Stockholm will have 17 km of tunnels. Construction will cost EUR264.7 million at 2009 prices, and will begin in 2012 and last for at least 8 years. Visit www.vv.se. 42/09.
