Invitation for bids from the Nepal Ministry of Physical
Infrastructure and Transport, Department of Roads (DoR), deadline 10.10.2018, for
the construction of the 2.69-km-long Nagdhunga to Naubise tunnel project. The contract includes the construction and
completion of a road-tunnel (2.688km long, 2 lanes each of 3.5m, a median 1.5m
wide, shoulders 0.5m wide at both sides for drainage facilities, total carriage
way of 9.5m width), Eastern and Western approach roads, 1 intersection and 1
interchange on Tribhuvan highway, 7 bridges and 11 box-culverts, toll-gate
facilities, traffic monitoring/control and maintenance office buildings,
disposal area development, transmission line, and others. At present, the
Nagdhunga-Naubise section of the Tribhuvan Highway is highly congested as
Nagdhunga is the main entry and exit point of the Capital. The tunnel road
project will shorten the 14-km distance of the section to 2.69 km after

The Hazama Ando Corporation of Japan has been contracted for the construction of 2.69 km Nagdhunga-Naubise Tunnel project.
