On the 29/11/2021 at 11h00a at the Fehmarnbelt tunnel construction site in Puttgarden, Danish Transport minister Benny Engelbrecht, together with Enak Ferlemann from the German Federal Government, Schleswig-Holstein's Transport minister Bernd Buchholz and CEO of Sund &bælt Mikkel Hemmingsen, broke the ground to begin construction work on the German side.
