Extension of the Kommunarskaya Line
On 20 August, at the meeting of the Urban Planning Commission, the project for the extension of the Kommunarskaya line of the Moscow metro to the city of Troitsk was approved. The line, currently under construction, will be extended by 14.6 km with 6 stations (Sosenki, Rakitki, Desna, Desenovskoye, Vatutinki and Troitsk) from Stolbovo station. A 23-hectare depot will be built in Troitsk. The Chinese company CRCC is involved with the building of the section between the Mamyri and Stolbovo stations, which is part of the Kommunarskaya metro line.
The Big Circle Line (BCL)
Excavation of the two tunnels between Karamyshevskaya and Ulitsa Narodnogo Opolcheniya stations and the four tunnels between Aminyevskoye Shosse and Prospekt Vernadskogo stations in the south-western part of Moscow's Big Circle Line (BCL) have been completed. Wells for the stations Prospekt Vernadskogo, Michurinsky Prospekt and Aminyevskoye Shosse have also been finished and the main structures of the future stations are now under construction. On the 18th of August the TBM Dasha completed the excavation of the left tunnel (1470 m) between the Aminyevskoye Shosse and Michurinsky Prospekt stations, passing under the railway towards Kiev, and also under the Ochakovka river and the Michurinsky Prospekt station part of the Solntsevskaya metro line.
The tunnel between Aminyevskoye Shosse and Michurinsky Prospekt stations is part of the 4.6 km south-west section from Aminyevskoye Shosse to BCL's Prospekt Vernadskogo, which is also being built by the Chinese company CRCC and is scheduled for completion in 2021. This section will improve connections with the Ochakovo-Matveevskoye, Ramenki and Vernadskogo Prospekt areas and lighten traffic on the nearby Sokolnicheskaya and Solntsevskaya underground lines.
In the South-West section of BCL the TBM Mary is digging the right tunnel from Aminievskoye Shosse station to platform No. 6 in front of Davydkovo station. The left tunnel has already been completed.
On August 12th the testing phase of the Pobeda TBM (diameter 10 m) in the CRCC plants in China was completed. The machine will now be dismantled and prepared within 90 days for shipment to Moscow where, by the end of the year, it will begin excavating the double-track tunnel from Nagatinsky Zaton station to Klenovoy Boulevard and then to the transition chamber on the eastern side of the BCL. The excavation of the single-track tunnels towards the Kashirskaya station will be carried out with two 6 m-diameter TBMs.
On August 3rd , the construction of the 2.5 km section between the Nizhegorodskaya and Aviamotornaya stations was completed. The TBM Valeria completed the last section of this segment with the excavation of the left tunnel (1347 m) from the exit ramp, near the Perovskoye oil depot, to the Aviamotornaya station. The TBM crossed water-saturated soils at a depth of 12-35 m, under a densely populated area.
Moscows Nekrasovskaya line
Construction of Nekrasovskaya line is in full swing now. Its first section opened on 3rd June, with Kosino, Ulitsa Dmitriyevskogo, Lukhmanovskaya and Nekrasovka stations commissioned.
Construction of the second section Aviamotornaya — Kosino is expected to complete in 2019-2020, will each station being a true work of art.
Nizhegorodskaya metro station's design will be based on a combination of multi-coloured geometric shapes, the key Suprematism artistic technique. The ticket offices' ceilings will have large yellow and orange square lights. Same coloured tunnel walls will contrast with the grey colour of the ceiling and the walls. There will be cube-shaped bright orange benches installed along the platform. Station's design is inspired by the paintings by Kazimir Malevich, Lazar Lissitzky, Nikolai Suetin and other Suprematists.
Stakhanovskaya metro station's design is a reference to constructivism era. Its aesthetics will be expressed in strict geometric shapes combined with red, brown, dark grey and white colours. The interior is to look like a production hall. Its design is associated with the station's name: In August 1935, the Soviet miner Alexei Stakhanov produced 102 tons of coal (with the standard target being 7 tons) during the night shift. This record gave rise to the so-called Stakhanov Movement.
Okskaya metro station's ceiling will be the design's highlight, decorated with bright blue aluminium panels and round LED lamps creating an illusion of circles on the water.
Yugo-Vostochnaya metro station will resemble the Oriental palaces. Round reflective ceiling shades, reminiscent of minaret domes, will be its highlight. A wall separating platforms will look like inverted teethed arches. The colour scheme is also reminiscent of Central Asia, with its beige, yellow, black and grey colours prevailing.
The BCL is the world's largest metro construction project it will be 70 km long and will have two depots and 31 stations. From 19 stations it will be possible to switch to other metro lines, Moscow Central Ring trains and other trains. BCL's main hubs will be the Business Center, Savyolovskaya, Rizhskaya and Ulitsa Novatorov.
Moscow has already opened six BCL stations on the section between Business Centre and Savyolovskaya. Construction work is underway on all sections and over 60% of the tunnels have already been completed.
Four sections with 15 stations will be completed by the end of 2021: in 2019 the section from Nizhegorodskaya to Rubtsovskaya; in 2020 the section with three stations from Ulitsa Novatorov to Kakhovskaya; by the end of 2021 the two sections from Khoroshyovskaya to Prospekt Vernadskogo /Vernadsky Avenue.
