On April 4^th 2019 in Moscow, the TBM Polina broke through at the Michurinsky Avenue Station in the south-western section of the Big Ring Line (BCL). The TBM had bored 1.5 km of tunnel from Prospect Vernadsky station to Michurinsky Prospekt. The TBM worked in extreme low temperatures of -35 °C placing 1043 rings.

China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) is the general contractor for the construction of this 4.6km section of Moscow Metro in the southwest of the city, including the 3 underground stations Aminevskoye Highwa, Michurinsky Avenue and Prospekt Vernadskogo.  TBM Polina is one of five machines supplied by CRCC, Eugene, Dasha, Galina and Mary are all still working on different parts of the Big Ring line for further information please click here for tunnelbuilder archive.
