Megalot 3 is the main project along the Calabria section of the SS 106 Jonica trunk road. It is strategic for connecting the Ionian Sea coasts of Calabria, Basilicata and Puglia. When finished, it will connect the A14 and A2 motorway axis and improve access to numerous coastal towns, benefiting both travel times and road safety.

The Megalot 3 project of the Ionian Trunk Road (SS 106) - started in May 2020 and is estimated to finish in by the end of August 2026 – the road will be 38 km in length including two separate lanes. This includes 5km of natural tunnels, 5 km of artificial tunnels and 7 km of viaducts. The section will develop the province of Cosenza, between Sibari and Roseto Capo Spulico and foresees 4 road intersections (Sibari, Cerchiara-Francavilla, Trebisacce and Roseto) that will ensure a connection with the existing road network and between the coast and the inland territory. The works on the Megalot are bing built by Webuild for ANAS (FS Italiane Group). Click here and it/101for tunnelbuilder archive.
