Eiffage Genie Civil on Wednesday, August 28th at 4:30 PM - after 18 months of intensive excavation -  achieved the first breakthrough in the Bjonnas tunnel (2540 m) on the E18 Langangen - Rugtvedt project, Lot 2, in Norway. The excavation was completed using explosives for the northern tube of the (2 x 2.5 km) Bjonnas twin-tube tunnel:  1,620 m excavated from Lanner (east access) and 920 m excavated from Herregarsbekken (west access). The average progress was 5 to 7 m per day per tube, depending on how many ground injection phases there were.
