Italian company CM Lafer Srl in collaboration with Indian company Eurostar Engineering Pvt-Ltd has completed the supply of 30 formworks for in-situ final lining of tunnels excavated with NATM system in two major Railway Projects in India.
The first project is the new single-track railway line located in the Uttarakhand region between Rishikesh and Karanprayag:125 km of railway line in the Ganges valley with 105 km in tunnel (84%).

CM Lafer Srl and Eurostar Engineering Pvt-Ltd from 2021 until the present day, have provided for the following lots PKG 4, PKG 5, PKG6, PKG 7A and PKG8 the equipment for the final poured lining of main tunnels (8 formworks), escape tunnels (6 formworks), cross passages (4 formworks), widened Lay By sections (3 formworks), sections with fire-fighting systems (2 formworks). For the PKG 4 lot also provided 1 formwork - expandable for sections with one or two platforms - for pouring the double-track tunnels. A total of 24 formworks to date have been supplied and installed at the various sites. Completing these supplies were also the formworks for the cross-connecting tunnel couplers and the formworks for the various service niches. The SIVOK-RANGPO railway project in Sikkim state is one of the most prestigious national projects underway in India. This project restarted in 2021 and involves the construction of 14 tunnels (total 38.53 km), 5 railway stations and 13 main bridges. Tunnel No. 12 is under construction by Dhorajia PVT Ltd.
For this construction site, CM Lafer Srl & Eurostar Engineering Pvt-Ltd made and supplied two formworks with 12 m length each, which were moved by a wagon with integrated hydraulic concrete distribution system.
The lining of this 1.45-kilometer-long tunnel is being carried out from one portal to the opposite access using the alternating 12-m block casting system. One casting with double front closure and the other with double rebound ring. The average production achieved is about 90 m per weeks.
