On the 20.02.2019 Mumbai Metro 3 Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ corridor achieved a 6th TBM breakthrough at Sahar Road Metro station, which is being built under Mumbai’s crucial Tansa water pipeline.
The TBM Tapi-1 tunnelled 692 m through the rocky strata made of Basalt, Breccia and Tuff after being commissioned on 13th Sept 2018 from CSMIA T2. The 89-m long Tapi-1 bored, on average, 4.31 m daily, shaping the tunnel with 495 RCC cement rings. J Kumar and China Rail Tunnel Group (CRTG) are consortia partners for the construction of Package-6, which runs from CSMIA-T2 to Sagar Road. Click here and in/77 for tunnelbuilder archive.
