The Norwegian Public Roads Administration have awarded to Skanska Norge AS from Oslo the first of three large Rogfast contracts, called E04 Boknafjord tunnel North. The EUR 471.02 million (NOK4.94 bn) contract is linked to the construction of the northern part of the E39 Rogfast project, a 26.7 km long underwater tunnel between the municipalities Randaberg in the south and Bokn in the north.
Skanska will build the northern part of the two-lane subsea Boknafjord tunnel from Bokn in the north and halfway towards Kvitsøy, a total of 18.5 km road in tunnel and 2 km of road above ground.
Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter 2023 and will be completed in the third quarter 2029.
