Haehre Entreprenor AS from Sandvika secured the EUR 63.71 million (NOK637.25 million) contract, excluding VAT, for the 6.5km extension of the new Stoylsnes tunnel (profile T9.5) on Rv 5, updating of the existing Stoylsnes tunnel (profile T8.5). The contract includes the construction of a 0.4 km new main road, classification H2 with a width of 8.5 m and 0.8 km of local roads and foot/cycle paths. Approximately 3 km of new tunnel has been blasted in a previous contract. The existing Stoylsnes tunnel must have new technical buildings, new electronic installations, and some building and technical installations. The Stoylsnes tunnel must be open for normal traffic during the construction period. After the extension the Stoylsnes tunnel, will be called the Kosnest tunnel and will be 8.6 km long.
