In July, 2013 the Government of Montenegro selected the Chinese companies CCCC (China Communications Construction Company) and its subsidiary, CRBC (China Road and Bridge Corporation) for construction of the first 41 km-long Smokovac-Uvce-Matesevo section of the169.2 km-long Bar-Boljare highway. This will be the first motorway to be built in the small Balkan country, and one of its largest infrastructure projects.
