TERNA, the electric power transmission company, has awarded Seli a EUR38 million contract for construction of a new cable tunnel from Favazzina marine harbour to Scilla power station, 630 m above sea level. The project comprises a 2,842 m-long inclined tunnel driven using a 4.09 m-diameter double shield TBM, a 7m-diameter x 353 m-deep vertical shaft, and related works.
