Construction of $29 million, 2.2 km-long Quattro Venti single bore, twin-track tunnel awarded to Astaldi/Impregilo for July, 2001 start. Herrenknecht 7.9 m-diameter EPB will install precast segmental lining on drive from Trastevere to San Pietro in tuff, silt-clay alluvials, and gravel with 2-6 m cover and up to 3.5 bar water pressure.
