On 15.01.2019 India’s State-owned NHIDCL (National Highways
and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited) has terminated the contract
awarded to IL&FS (Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services) group for
the construction operation and maintenance of a 2 lane bidirectional
Zojila/Zozila tunnel with parallel escape tunnel. It’s the second time NHIDCL
terminates the awarded contract for building the 14.2 km-long Zojila tunnel.
