The Joint Venture Implenia (35%)/HOCHTIEF (65%) has been awarded the EUR 580 million contract, excluding VAT, to build the 2.2-km-long Altona noise protection tunnel on the A7 motorway in Hamburg, including access and exit roads. Work between the A7 junctions Othmarschen and Volkspark is expected to start in April 2021 and be completed by 2028.
The enlargement of the motorway to 8 lanes between the Hamburg-Othmarschen and Hamburg-Volkspark junctions will close the gap between the current A7 expansion projects north and south of the Elbtunnel.
