The Bogotá Metro Company (EMB) and the National Development Fund (FDN) signed an inter-administrative contract, to carry out a comprehensive construction project for the 16 km Line 2 of the Bogotá metro. This will connect the metro Line 1, from Calle 72 with Avenida Caracas to the Fontanar del Río sector, in the town of Suba, passing through Engativa. The contract, worth EUR16.51 million (COP72.35 bn), is an important step in the development of metro Line 2 construction in Bogota, as forecast in the 2020-2024 Development Plan.
