Third Ring Road

Award to Aas-Jakobsen AS for NOK4.9 million of the detailed planning for road 150 Store Ringvei between Ulvensplitten to Sinsenkrysset, parts of road 163 í˜stre Aker vei as well as a local road in the Sinsen-í˜kern area. Includes a double-tube tunnel, with lengths of 940 and 700 m. Variable cross section, 74.41 sq m on the three-lane portion, 53.53 sq m on the two-lane portion and 37.23 sq m within the single-lane ramps. Hard rock sections to be bored using the drill/blast method in sedimentary rocks, mainly clay stone and shales. Support with rockbolts, shotcrete and possibly some cast in place concrete lining. Soft soil sections in cut-and-cover will mainly consists of soft to medium strength clay with some areas with quick clays. Bids for construction at spring 2004. Work start planned for May, 2005 with end in May, 2007. Tunnelling estimated at NOK540 million in 1999. Financing by the Norwegian state (45%) and toll revenues (55%). The Loren tunnel is a combination of rock tunnel and concrete construction. The rock tunnel comprises of two separate tubes with three lanes, each 900 m long and 12.5 m wide, and two 7 m-wide 550 m-long tubes (ramps) with a single lane. Concrete tunnels, with total length of 210 m, connect each end of the main rock tunnel. Other concrete tunnels, 520 m in length, connect the ramps. The Okern tunnel is a concrete construction for two lanes, length 320 m. Pre-injection of the rock is anticipated at a large extent, with bolts to secure the rock. The Lí¸ren tunnel will stretch from í˜kern to Sinsen and consists of a 2.9 km twin tunnel, of which 900 metres of rock tunnel as well as concrete portions at each end. Construction is expected to commence in September 2008 and to last for five years. When the Lí¸ren tunnel is completed in 2013, the existing stretch of the third ring road between í˜kern and Sinsen will be converted to a local road. Skanska has signed a contract with the Norwegian Road Administration (Statens vegvesen) to renovate the of 2.2 km-long twin tube Granfoss tunnel on ringroad 3 in Oslo and Baerum, Norway. The contract is worth EUR60.59 million. The project also includes construction of a concrete cover over an open area to reduce noise and establish new land for housing. Work is expected to begin in mid-October 2015 and will be completed in September 2017.
