The project consists of a 670 m-long 35 to 40 m-wide 6-element immersed tube at 112 m under the sea level. The contract is expected to be signed at the beginning of August with work on site starting at the beginning of September when the necessary detailed plans/documentation have been approved. Typical dimensions of the concrete elements, which are to be tiled on the side facing traffic, are 12-15 cm thickness, 3.5 m height, and 3.3 m length, and a total area of 21,200 sq m is required. Skanska has signed the EUR54.56 million contract for the renovation of the Ekeberg (1580 m, 1580 m) and Svartdals (1460 m, 1700 m) tunnels on the E6/E18 in Oslo, Norway. The project consists mainly of electrical work, fire protection and improved cleaning solutions for the tunnels. In addition, new technical buildings will be built, evacuation routes will be upgraded, a new layer of asphalt will be added and all signs will be replaced. The work will begin in the summer of 2017 and will be completed before summer 2019.
