Southbound traffic will use the new tunnel while northbound traffic will use the old tunnel. The tunnel width is 9.5 m. The geology is porphyric stone (50 m) and granite. The excavation method will be drilling and blasting. Bolts and shotcrete with steel fibres will be used for support. In unstable areas, steel arches may also be used.
