Stockholm to Present Projects Worth EUR2.5 Billion at International MeetingThe Stockholm region is currently undergoing a period of rapid expansion. Within the next ten years, several very large infrastructure projects will be implemented. In all, this will entail investments amounting to more than EUR2.5 billion. View map of projects here (7MB file).Vagverket - the Swedish Road Administration, Banverket - the National Rail Administration and the City of Stockholm are the three major owners for these projects and are jointly promoting Stockholm as a marketplace of the future for contractors and suppliers within the infrastructure construction sector. The intention behind this collaboration and long-term planning is to ensure continuity and create favourable conditions for a supplier market that will be able to meet demands.A joint information meeting is to be held on 22nd May, 2006 from 1 to 5 pm at the Stockholm City Conference Centre (Norra Latin), Drottninggatan 71 B, SE-10726 Stockholm. Its estimated cost is EUR600 million. Click here and se/13. The city line (citybanan) is a 6 km-long, twin-track commuter train tunnel with two new stations. An approximately 300 m-long underwater concrete tunnel will be constructed at Soderstrom. Its estimated cost ranges between EUR1,100 and EUR1,400 million. The works include concrete repair, electrical power supply, lighting, surface water treatment, ventilation and traffic engineering systems. The estimated cost ranges from EUR60 to EUR110 million. Two 300 m-long cut-and-cover are planned. Stockholm's north-south outer city bypass will connect Kungens Kurva with Haggvik.
