Garibaldi-San Siro section of Milan M5 metro underway Work starts on 14.11.2010 in Milan on the 6.7 km-long Garibaldi-San Siro section of the M5 metro line including 10 stations: Monumentale, Cenisio, Gerusalemme, Domodossola, Tre Torri, Portello, Lotto, Segesta, San Siro Ippodromo, and San Siro Stadio. Four 6.5 m-diameter TBMs will be employed, with the first launching at San Siro station in spring, 2012 and the remaining three from Monumentale in the autumn.Metro line 5 from Bignami to San Siro will be 12.3 km-long, with 19 stops and a capacity of 60 million passengers/year. The first section Bignami-Zara will be completed spring/summer, 2012. The second section Zara-Garibaldi will come in a year later, and the entire line Bignami-San Siro by end-April, 2015.
