The Joint Venture working on the Struma motorway (Bulgaria) which consists of GP Group (48%), Global Construction (48%) and Via Plan (2%) has now started construction of the 2km Zheleznitsa tunnel (from km 366+720 to km 369+000).  The value of the contract is EUR 94.8 million (BGN185.87 million), excluding VAT. The contracts for the design and construction positions of the tunnel facility were signed last year (2018) by the Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA).

The Struma motorway will link Bulgaria's capital Sofia to the Kulata checkpoint on the border with Greece. Its construction has been divided into four sections, three of which have already been built.
