World's highest road tunnelOn 25.05.2011 work began on the 7 km-long Trola tunnel in south-western Sichuan province on the 2,415 km-long Sichuan-Tibet highway in China. At a maximum altitude of 4,380 m, Trola will be the highest road tunnel in the world. Construction will take four years and budgeted cost is EUR120 million. 22/11.
