West Section of Tel Aviv Red Line Completed.

On September 20, 2018, the last CREG TBM (ø 7.54m) successfully broke through into the Carlibach Station in Tel Aviv, Israel.  The project used 6 sets of CREG EPBs and the contractor as part of a JV has finished 11.793 m tunnel within 2 years to European standard design and European standard construction.! Congratulation to NTA and Contractor joint venture between CREG and Solel Boneh.

The Red Line will be the ‘backbone’ of the Tel Aviv Metro system, where it will pass through the most congested regions of the metropolitan area. On this project, the ground settlement control was a key issue during TBM boring period. This meant that special combi-methods had to be used by CREG and the other contractors.
