You are invited to help name the West Gate Tunnel Project’s twin tunnels that will shape the future of travel for Melbourne’s west. As part of the Tunnel naming competition, you have the opportunity to submit names that recognise landmarks of Melbourne’s west, cultural connections or local historical figures. Competition closes March 31, 2025. 

Names could also focus on the rich maritime history and local waterways in Melbourne’s west. All suggestions will be reviewed by a selection committee before the names are revealed later this year.  

Every person who submits a suggested name will go in the draw to win a Eur300 (AUD500) Shell Coles Express voucher. The winners will also have the opportunity to nominate a community organisation or charity for a EUR1,500 (AUD2,500) donation.
