This 5th edition of the ITA Tunnelling Awards is organised by the International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association, and will take place from the 18^th to the 20^th of November 2019 , in Miami, USA. This will be during the 8th Cutting Edge conference organised by the UCA of SME. 

The ITA is calling for candidates from all over the world to enter in the eight available categories.

• Major Project of the Year - over €500m

• Project of the Year - between €50m and €500m

• Project of the Year including renovation - up to €50m

• Technical Project Innovation of the Year

• Technical Product/Equipment Innovation of the Year

• Innovative Underground Space concept of the Year

 • Safety Initiative of the Year

• Young Tunneller of the Year

The ITA intends to identify and support, a wide and diverse range of tunnelling projects, from large-scale and large-budget infrastructures to more discrete but revolutionary technical innovations.

Nominations for the different  categories must be related to projects for which the major civil engineering work was completed between 1st January 2017 and 1st April 2019.

The Young Tunneller of the Year entries must be an individual born after 1st January 1985 and who has brought an outstanding contribution to tunnelling.
