Paris, 19 February 2019 - The Board of Directors of TELT (the public promoter entrusted by Italy and France with the construction of the cross-border section of the Lyon-Turin railway line), during today's meeting in Paris, in view of the situation and following contacts with governments, unanimously decided to briefly postpone the publication of contract notices; it kept the meeting open until the necessary technical and procedural elements had been examined in detail.
Indeed, at the Council meeting, the representative of the European Commission presented an official communication from INEA (Innovation and Networks Executive Agency) which indicates, as a condition for the confirmation of the full contribution of 813 million euros, the imminent publication of contract notices, failing which a reduction of 300 million would be applied.
At the end of the discussion, the Council asked the President and CEO of TELT to inform both governments of the deadlines for today's discussion, the deadlines defined by INEA and the responsibilities accordingly.
