On 17^th December, the Ghella Abergeldie Joint Venture (GAJV) celebrated the arrival of the massive Hiwa-i-te-Rangi TBM in the Tawariki Street shaft in Grey Lynn as part of the construction of Auckland’s 16.2km Central Interceptor tunnel. The TBM is on track again towards its final destination at Point Erin in Herne Bay to complete the tunnel which will significantly reduce flooding of local waterways during heavy rainfall.
