On 23/02/2021 the construction of the last of the six tunnel sections, for the Eastern extension of the Warsaw metro Line 2 were completed. TBM Anna, began its journey at Zacisze station, and broke through at Trocka station after over 650 m of tunnelling. The TBM excavated a total of 2,878 m, completing the last of the 4 tunnels of Line 2. 

Now works will be focused on finishing and assembling works, such as laying the tracks and building the new stations. 

Station construction updates

The C21 Brodno station, the largest on Line 2, will have 11 waiting tracks and a 700 m long underground structure, most of which is already visible. Passenger and service platforms construction are now underway.  

In station C20 Kondratowicza works are ongoing for equipping, building stairs to/from the tracks and electrical substation building.  At the smaller station C19 Zacisze, the painting and finishing works have started and the installation of the ventilation system is in progress.  Finally stations C05 Ulrychow and C04 Bemowoo  have started the construction of the technical rooms and the structures that will house stairs and escalators.  

The new sections of Line 2 will be inaugurated in the second half of 2022: passengers will have 17 stations available, 5 of which are new: Zacisze, Kondratowicza, Brodno on the eastern  section as well as Ulrychow and Bemowoo in the western section.
