NorthConnex, the dual 9 km tunnel which will link the M1 Pacific Motorway at Wahroonga to the Hills M2 Motorway at West Pennant Hills, will open to traffic on the 31/10/2020,  taking up to 5,000 heavy vehicles off Pennant Hills Road, unlocking congestion and improving road safety. Drivers are set to also benefit from up to 15 minutes in travel time savings per trip, bypassing 21 sets of traffic lights. 

NorthConnex, the Australia’s deepest road tunnel, will be managed by the same team which operates the WestLink M7 Motorway. The team will also be responsible for quarterly tunnel maintenance closures.
