On the 16^th of June comol5 celebrated a major milestone by successfully drilling under the Rhine-Schie Canal for the second time. It was the most difficult and exciting part of the drilling section, as the tunnel boring machine was not very deep. The design of a monitoring field just in front of the canal allowed comol5 to gain enough knowledge so there was no need to install ballast in the canal. Which meant there was no hindrance to shipping. TBM Gaia has so far drilled 350 m and placed 171 rings.
