On 27 March 2024, Adif AV completed excavation of the Monte Plano tunnel (1.9 km) on the Olite-Tafalla South section (7.6 km) of the high-speed rail corridor in Navarra. The tunnel - built using the NATM method - will be double-track and will have an emergency tunnel (341 m). The Castejón-Comarca de Pamplona high-speed railway, part of the Cantabrian-Mediterranean Corridor, will connect Navarre with Aragon and the Basque Country for passenger and freight traffic.
