Sofia airport metro underway

On 21.11.2012 construction started officially on lot 1, part of the 5 km extension of Sofia metro Line 1 from Tsarigradsko Road to the airport, including four stations. Construction is divided into three contract packages. Once completed, the new section will reduce the time to reach the airport from downtown to only 16 minutes.
