Silberberg rail tunnel underway on Erfurt-Ebensfeld lineConstruction of the 7.4 km-long, EUR220 million Silberberg rail tunnel at Moehrenbach, near Ilmenau in Thuringia, started on 08.04.2010. This, the second-longest tunnel on the 107 km-long route between Erfurt and Ebensfeld, will be excavated using drill/blast techniques by JV Wayss & Freytag AG/Bilfinger Berger AG/Max Bögl Bauunternehmung GmbH & Co.
