Shenzhen metro lines progress

Construction on the extensions of seven lines to add 87 km to the Shenzhen, China metro system will start between 2015 and 2017. The Shenzhen Rail Construction Office plan for this third phase of construction includes extensions as follows: the Shekou Line eastward to Liantang, Luohu District; the Longhua Line northward to Guanlan; and the Huanzhong Line and Metro Line 9, currently under construction, will be extended to Qianhai. Civil engineering work on Qiaocheng East Depot of Shenzhen Metro Line 9 and Bijiashan Train Terminal was finished in December, 2014. The Qiaocheng East Depot, located at the intersection of Qiaocheng Road East and Baishi Road, is the only maintenance base for Metro Line 9 trains. Metro Line 9 will link Hongshuwan in Nanshan and Wenjin in Luohu District. It will have ten transfer stations connecting with other lines. The tunnel for Metro Line 9 will be completed end-March, 2015 and the line will be put into operation at the end of 2016.

Construction of Metro Line 10, which will link Futian Checkpoint and Pinghu, started at the end of 2014. The 29.9 km-long line, with 25 stations including eight interchange stations, will be a regional line that passes through Futian District, Longhua New Area and Longgang District.

When the 51 km-long metro Line 11, which will connect central Futian District and Songgang in Bao'an District, via Nanshan District and Shenzhen International Airport, is put into operation in June, 2016, riders will be able to go direct to Shenzhen airport. It will have 18 stations, and the trains are designed to run at a speed of 120 km/hour. The trip to the Shenzhen airport from Futian will take about 50 minutes.

On 26.01.2015 the main structure of Huangmugang Station was completed, bringing to five the number of completed stations of Metro Line 7. Metro Line 7, a V-shaped line which links Xili in Nanshan with Buxin in Luohu District, will run about 30 km with 28 stations and will be put into operation at the end of 2016.
