STUVA praise for transport tunnelsDr Roland Leucker, head of STUVA, observed at the opening press conference at Innotrans in Berlin that tunnels help to relieve the volume of traffic and improve the quality of life in towns and cities. They make infrastructure more efficient, are the key to longterm future mobility, and improve the locality. Some 15,000 km of transport tunnels are in use in Europe, of which 1,400 km are in Germany.
