Between the 28^th  August  and  4^th  September 2015 Seattle Tunnel Partners have lowered the final three pieces of the SR 99 TBMs front shield into the access pit in Seattle, Washington for reassembly.

With all the major components of the TBM called ‘Bertha’ now in place,  the crews can focus on reassembling the TBM and to prepare it for the testing phase. STP and manufacturer Hitachi Zosen will conduct the series of tests following reassembly to ensure the machine is ready to resume mining. Click us/69 and here for tunnelbuilder archive.
