Robbins’ progress in Mexico City

Three 8.93 m Robbins EPBs with continuous conveyor systems are tunnelling from shafts up to 150 m deep through watery clays and large boulders at the 62 km-long Emisor Oriente wastewater tunnel. The project will curb flooding in downtown Mexico City as part of an overhaul of the capital's ageing sewer system. View the video and visit www.robbinstbm.com.

Elsewhere in the city, a 10.2 m-diameter Robbins EPB has excavated 7.7 km of the new metro Line 12 in highly variable ground including watery clays, cobbles and large boulders. The picture shows the machine at breakthrough. Read the press release. 16/12.
