On 01.02.2017, contractor MIP-Story used the Robbins EPB371 (diameter 6 m), on its fourth bore of the Moscow Metro. The EPB is expected to encounter difficult geology and running sands. The machine will also have to bore underneath an existing railway.
The new 1.9 km tunnel will connect Kosino and Ulitsa Dmitrievskogo stations as part of the new 17.2 km Kozhukhovskaya metro line which will include 8 stations. The line will stretch from central Moscow to Nekrasovka, a remote district in southeastern Moscow. It will also pass through the Vykhino-Zhulebino, Ryazansky, Nizhegorodsky and Ukhtomsky districts. The Kozhukhovskaya Line will run parallel to the existing Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya Line and will intersect with it at Kosino station.
The works are divided into two stages. The first includes the digging by two 6 m TBM of two single-track tunnels between Nekrasovka and Kosino stations.
The second includes the excavation by a 10 m TBM of a double-track tunnel linking Nizhegorodskaya Ulitsa and Yugo-Vostochnaya stations. Click here for more and here to see photos from this continuing project. Visit http://www.therobbinscompany.com/en/. 07/17.
