In 2014 the restoration of the Rosemont reservoir began again, it had been commissioned by the Municipality of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The tunnel construction comprises of a large diameter (2100 mm) supply line which is 40 m deep and is 4 km long. The tunnel runs from rue Notre-Dame to the junction of Rue Alphonse-D Roy and towards the Rosemont reservoir.
In November 2015 a 3.0 m diameter Robbins Double Shield TBM, launched by the local contractor Foraction, completed the tunnel and emerged into an exit shaft. It has taken the project more than 38 years to complete. Click here for the breakthrough video and here for further information on the project. Visit http://www.therobbinscompany.com/. 04/16.
