23/05/2024

Press release - For the first time, the Villarodin-Bourget/Modane underground construction site, where part of the Mont Cenis base tunnel, at the centre of the new Turin-Lyon railway line, is being built, will now be open to the public.

After the success of the 2023 edition, in which more than 1,200 people visited the works at the French entrance of the tunnel in Saint-Julien-Montdenis, the appointment to get to know one of the major infrastructures under construction in Europe returns on the weekend of 15 and 16 June.

The experience starts from the open-air platform where visitors, accompanied by professionals from TELT and its partner companies, will be able to see the working equipment and discover the technical characteristics and challenges of the work. Those who wish can then go deep into the heart of the mountain to see live the places where part of the longest railway tunnel in the world is being excavated.
