On 04.12.2013 final breakthrough was achieved on the Pale tunnel (2,319 m - 2,045 m) in Scopoli, Foligno municipality on SS77 Val di Chienti in Italy. It is the last of 13 tunnels to be completed for the Marche-Umbria quadrilateral scheme, comprising seven tunnels in Marche and six tunnels in Umbria totalling more than 40 km.
