Nye Veier recommends a western route for the E6 Nedgard – Toset

Nye Veier - after an evaluation of several route alternatives for the E6 section Nedgard - Toset within the planning area - has chosen two preferred alignments that have been put forward for consideration.

Nye Veier has recommended that the Rennebu municipality should proceed with the western route, due to it being better for agricultural land acquisition, greenhouse gas emissions, natural diversity, outdoor life, urban and rural life, cultural heritage and economy.

The western route has the lowest estimated development cost and provides the best net benefit; entails overall less disadvantages associated with so-called non-priced consequences (landscape, outdoor life/urban and rural life, natural diversity, cultural heritage and natural resources).

The evaluation of the priced consequences (including development costs, accidents, noise and greenhouse gases) and the non-priced consequences has been done according to standard guidelines for impact analyses.

Nye Veier's recommendation is based on relevant extracts from the impact assessment and professional reports. The project provides the greatest possible benefit per budget, minimizes greenhouse gas emissions and other burdens on the external environment, minimizes both temporary and permanent land occupation, increase traffic safety on the road.

The western alternative runs along today's E6, while the eastern mainly runs through untouched nature and cultural landscapes.

Regulatory plans for both alternatives will be submitted to Rennebu municipality at the beginning of November, and they will then be put out for consultation. The evaluation will be part of the documentation to be sent to the municipality.

The municipality is going to process the case at the end of the year, and then decide on an route during the spring of 2023.  For further information visit https://kommunikasjon.ntb.no/. 38/22.
