The Fegino construction site has had a new breakthrough between the Voltri interconnection tunnel (the so-called “odd-numbered” track) and a large structure in the already completed Valico tunnel. The “even-numbered track” was completed in December 2020, and the new milestone almost completes the connection. The Terzo Valico dei Giovi work’s overall excavations have now reached 68% of the total.  

The Fegino construction site is an important crossroad for connecting to the Port of Voltri and the Genoa Juncture (Nodo di Genova): two junctions that will allow a reduction of the road freight transport times from the Mediterranean and will also have subsequent benefits in terms of CO2 reduction.
