Mapei's response to the growing demand from the construction market was to create their Underground Technology Team and product line. The Underground Technology Team (UTT), is dedicated to underground works, and at its heart wants to minimize any impact on the environment, offering ecological products that satisfy the technical requirements of its customers. Mapei has always attached great importance to technical and scientific research, investing more than 5% of its turnover in R&D laboratories; 70% of which is specifically dedicated to eco-compatible products that meet the requirements of the international LEED Program.

When undertaking underground works they make sure their highly specialized technicians work closely with the client. These technicians have a great deal of experience and technical knowledge, and are able to handle the most unpredictable situations, thus ensuring the most appropriate technical and economic solution for every company.

The Underground Technology Team (UTT) works all over the world, and has a network of highly qualified and professional technicians for companies to use. Currently they are working in Europe, Asia and South America, and now growing steadily in the United States. Soon, Mapei UTT plans to expand into markets in Australia and Africa.
