Lovat for SevilleSpanish construction joint venture UTE Metro de Sevilla, comprising Sacyr, Dragados, GEA 21, and Salvador Rus Construcciones JV, has ordered a new Lovat 6.5 m-diameter EPB TBM for the twin Line 1 tunnels of Seville Metro in southwest Spain.The Lovat RME238, equipped with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), will drive 4.6 km through predominantly soft ground, entirely beneath the water table, installing a 5.8 m/5.3 m reinforced concrete segmental lining in 1.4 m-deep rings.
