On the 10/05/2022 the joint venture between Al Hassanain (AHC) and Joseph Gallagher Limited (JGL) completed the 1,960 m Sea Outfall tunnel with an internal diameter of 2.2m, part of the Umm Al Hayman Wastewater Treatment Project in Kuwait.  The Herrenknecht AG AVN 2200mm diameter machine will now rest in its current location whilst the tunnel is stripped, cleaned, connected through in the launch shaft, and then flooded to allow recovery of the 100 t TBM from beneath the sea bed. 

The contract was signed in November 2019 with financial closure completed in July 2020 allowing for the project to start in August 2020.
