On 14/07/2020, the Turin City Council passed a resolution, which will then have to be approved by the City Council, which identifies Infra.To, the in-house company of the city of Turin, for the drafting of the final design of Line 2 of the Turin metro. This will include the depots and interchange car parks. The city council preferred this solution to using a tender option. The choice of Infra.To was pursued by the City in order to achieve cost and time savings in the procedures.

By July the agreement will be signed with the MIT, which has included work among the strategic infrastructures.  The construction of line 2 of the underground will start with the section between the Rebaudengo station and the Polytechnic University with a total cost of 1.5 billion Euros and for which Palazzo Civico has already obtained a grant of 828 million. The remaining 600 million could come with a loan from the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, which has just launched a new financial instrument for Municipalities, Metropolitan Cities and Provinces, for major works with a minimum amount of 400 million euro.
