Consortium Salini Impregilo/Strabag has agreed with client BBT SE to start construction of the EUR300 million Isarco River Underpass, part of the southern lot of the Brenner Base Tunnel located in the municipality of Pra di Sopra, Bolzano (Italy). The works present an engineering challenge because the main tunnels and the interconnecting tunnels will run under the Isarco River, the A22 motorway, state road SS 12 and the old Verona-Brenner railway line.
